Entrance Qualifications for The Real Estate Academy of Excellence School Applicants
In order to enroll in school and qualify for pre-licensing education,
applicants must meet the following entrance requirements:
○ Applicants must be at least 18 years old to enroll in a Georgia real estate
pre-licensing course and qualify for licensure.
○ Individuals who are 17 years old may complete the course but cannot apply for
licensure until they reach the age of 18.
○ Applicants must have earned at least a high school diploma or GED
equivalent.
○ Proof of education may be required at the time of course registration or before
applying for the state licensing exam.
○ Applicants must be lawfully present in the United States and be able to
provide valid identification.
○ A criminal background check is required for state licensure. While having a
criminal record does not automatically disqualify an applicant, certain felony or
misdemeanor convictions may impact eligibility. Applicants with prior convictions
are encouraged to check with the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC)
regarding their eligibility.
○ Applicants must enroll in a GREC-approved 75-hour pre-licensing course
offered by an accredited Georgia real estate school.
○ Online and in-person course options may be available, and students should
ensure the chosen program meets state requirements.
○ While there is no formal English proficiency test required, applicants must have a
sufficient understanding of the English language to successfully complete
coursework, exams, and professional transactions.
○ Applicants must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (such as a
driver’s license, passport, or state ID) upon registration.
○ Additional documentation, such as proof of education or immigration status, may
be required depending on the applicant’s background.
○ Those seeking a broker’s license must have at least three years of active
experience as a licensed real estate salesperson and must complete an
additional 60-hour broker pre-licensing course.
○ Applicants applying for a Georgia real estate license by reciprocity must hold a
current and valid
● Meeting the entrance qualifications for a Georgia real estate school does not guarantee
state licensure; applicants must also pass the Georgia Real Estate Exam and fulfill
additional licensing requirements set forth by GREC.
