Entrance Qualifications for The Real Estate Academy of Excellence School Applicants

In order to enroll in school and qualify for pre-licensing education,

applicants must meet the following entrance requirements:

1. Age Requirement

○ Applicants must be at least 18 years old to enroll in a Georgia real estate

pre-licensing course and qualify for licensure.

○ Individuals who are 17 years old may complete the course but cannot apply for

licensure until they reach the age of 18.

2. Educational Requirement

○ Applicants must have earned at least a high school diploma or GED

equivalent.

○ Proof of education may be required at the time of course registration or before

applying for the state licensing exam.

3. Legal and Background Requirements

○ Applicants must be lawfully present in the United States and be able to

provide valid identification.

○ A criminal background check is required for state licensure. While having a

criminal record does not automatically disqualify an applicant, certain felony or

misdemeanor convictions may impact eligibility. Applicants with prior convictions

are encouraged to check with the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC)

regarding their eligibility.

4. Pre-Licensing Course Enrollment

○ Applicants must enroll in a GREC-approved 75-hour pre-licensing course

offered by an accredited Georgia real estate school.

○ Online and in-person course options may be available, and students should

ensure the chosen program meets state requirements.

5. English Proficiency

○ While there is no formal English proficiency test required, applicants must have a

sufficient understanding of the English language to successfully complete

coursework, exams, and professional transactions.

6. Identification and Documentation

○ Applicants must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (such as a

driver’s license, passport, or state ID) upon registration.

○ Additional documentation, such as proof of education or immigration status, may

be required depending on the applicant’s background.

7. Additional Requirements for Brokers or Reciprocity Applicants

○ Those seeking a broker’s license must have at least three years of active

experience as a licensed real estate salesperson and must complete an

additional 60-hour broker pre-licensing course.

○ Applicants applying for a Georgia real estate license by reciprocity must hold a

current and valid

Important Considerations

● Meeting the entrance qualifications for a Georgia real estate school does not guarantee

state licensure; applicants must also pass the Georgia Real Estate Exam and fulfill

additional licensing requirements set forth by GREC.

● Applicants are encouraged to review Georgia real estate laws and licensing regulations to ensure compliance with all state requirements.

For further information, applicants should contact the Georgia Real Estate Commission

(GREC) or visit the official website for updated licensing guidelines and policies.
